March 17, 2010

Today was a good day. I walked 1.12 miles on the treadmill with the speed bumped up a bit. It felt good today, and my legs are now starting to get use to the walk. My weight is down to 340, which is better than the 355 that I started out as a few weeks ago. This walking stuff is getting to be second nature to me, and I want to start the new obsession of exercize than the old obsession of eating food that I should not have been eating. I want to try to walk again tonight before bed and maybe take a walk outside tomorrow in the nice cool air. Today I wore a sweatshirt over my t-shirt and a towel wrapped around my neck. I have not lost any weight for a few days, but I still walked becuase it was good for me and I need to keep going. So I kept going until my mile was up and a bit more. It is less than a struggle like it was a few weeks ago, but the sweat and burning of the legs felt good.

  1. Awesome job! You keep on walking!
Sometimes water retention happens when you start up exercising if you aren't used to it, so hang in there. You might also be converting some of that weight from fat to muscle. Keep it up and it will come off again!

  2. Hi, I'm from TM and just really want to help encourage you. I am on my own weight loss journey and it's been a struggle for years. I would really suggest not to weigh every day as it can get discouraging, every week helps things a little more. Also, I just read body for life, it's a great book with some awesome nutritional information, not just how to eat right but how to fuel your body. I know there are thousands of books but that one was a quick, easy, understandable read. They really suggest lifting weights but if that's not possible you can get an exercise band and do arm exercises using just your own body resistance. Muscle helps burn fat even when you are sleeping so if you can start to build more muscle along with the walking you are doing you can burn fat a little faster. Good luck and I look forward to following your journey. You are awesome!

  3. Kristen, thank you for the advice. I may have to look for that book. I have been searching the internet for a diet plan that actually works and is not something that is going to cost an arm and a leg to make everyday and it not be the same old foods. I just need to remember the bigger picture here. That is what is important. Thanks you guys for your comments!! They mean more then what you guys really know.

  4. Try not to obsess with the scale. Even if you don't see a major change on the scale your body is changing and you are becoming healthier. The weight will definitely come off! My friend is a personal trainer and she recommends a book to all her clients and friends called the Eat Clean Diet. Keep up the good work!
